This 400-seat thrust stage was designed for the combined use of the La Jolla
Playhouse, a professional repertory company, and the Theatre Department of the
University of California at San Diego. Hired directly by the University, Landry
& Bogan developed the Project Planning Guide in concert with architects
Leibhardt, Weston and Associates. When Antoine Predock, FAIA, Architect, was hired to design the building, Landry & Bogan continued working for the University providing the design of the interior theatre space, the stage, control rooms, and we additionally advised the architect on building elements relating to theatrical function. We also provided designs for all the theatrical equipment systems.
