Jim Hultquist
Jim is an associate designer and has been a part of the firm
since 2000. Jim's primary background is in lighting design, skills developed at
Rutgers University - Mason Gross School of the Arts. His past design work
includes regional, civic, and educational projects as well
as architectural work with the firm Fisher Marantz Stone. In addition to the work
at L&B he also
still works as a freelance lighting designer as projects arise.Jim is a project manager and while he is the designer of most of L&B's state of the art stage lighting systems, he also designs, rigging, acoutical drapes, and seating.
Jim creates drawings and specifications for all aspects of theatrical system design, from concept through project completion. Through the use of sketches and close drawing review, Jim coordinates the building's design with the architect and other consulting engineers to ensure that the integration of the building and stage systems is as seemless as possible
Jim also uses his design skills in photography and digital image manipulation to create advertisements and other graphic design projects for the firm including this web-site.
